ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

The review is most welcomed & I hope more successful than the last few....which always bowed to the pressure of the Premier leaugue clubs.

As you can see with the A-league this country doesn`t have the population to maintain huge crowd figures for every team.

FNSW have to look at their top divisions & regionalise the teams to align with the Associations.

There are 31 Associations under the banner of FNSW.

If each Association had it`s own team a decent competition could be formed.

Maybe a north & south conference with the top 4 in each conference playing off for the champions cup.

Conversly if Nth NSW also came on board NSW could be divided into 4 zones with the top two from each zone entering the Cup competition.

This, in time (20yrs at least),would give access to players in NSW to reach the top levels of football.

I realise that distance & financial constraints could hinder the competitions but under a regionalised plan sponsors could be found & FNSW would have a product that could be viable for TV.

Many country associations already enjoy some exposure on regional TV.

FNSW really needs to put a plan into action.
We don`t even have our own licenced club to generate revenue.

Under the above scheme each Association would be encouraged to develop it`s own stadium with licenced premises attached.
This would, in turn help to reduce the cost to grass roots players.

The other huge financial drain to Football is insurance.
Vast sums of money have been spent providing insurance that does nothing for the majority of players.
FNSW should look at setting up it`s own insurance scheme to cover players who have major accidents & injuries. That way the money stays within the football family.

To sum up,if Football is to prosper in this State we NEED major reforms.
The present system does not work effectively & with some planning we could be a great Footballing Nation.

This is just one part of the whole problem with the running of the game....the establishment of the FFA to run football in this country was part of the so called NEW DAWN for the game. Admittedly much progress has been made and Frank Lowy, above all, should be thanked for this, however, progress seems to have stalled and assistance from other areas is needed. (ie; the Government inquiry)....see other thread... maybe we should combine them. Either way lets all get involved, not just with our wants and hopes for THE MARINERS but for the game in general.
