Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Reds to rule the air waves

30 July 2009

A radio station will broadcast all of Adelaide Uniteds matches in the A-League season after it confirmed its commitment as the Reds official radio broadcast partner.

And ABC Grandstand will broadcast up to 10 Melbourne Victory matches in the championship.

Life FM 107.9 will broadcast every minute of each of Uniteds games this season live, the station returning as the Reds broadcaster after calling Adelaide's matches for the first two years of the A-League.

On the announcement Adelaide United chief executive Sam Ciccarello said: It is fantastic to have Life FM back on board, particularly after they were our broadcast partner for the first two years of the league.

They did a great job then and they have shown interest in the clubs progress over the journey and when the opportunity came up again to broadcast our games in the A-League, they showed a genuine interest.

Life FMs broadcast starts with the Reds season opener against Perth Glory on Friday, August 7, at Hindmarsh Stadium.

Meanwhile, Melbourne Victory and ABC Radio also announced a landmark broadcast deal one week before the club's season opener against Central Coast Mariners at Etihad Stadium on Thursday, August 6.

ABC Grandstand will broadcast up to 10 Victory home matches on 774 ABC Melbourne, digital radio and online, with the club's four remaining home matches to be broadcast on digital radio and online only

They are still negotiating... no weekend games will be broadcast through the duration of the AFL season if the deal gets done.

There are only 3 official radio partners of the A-League in their media guide.
Of Course Coast FM 96.3FM(A-Team) www.coastfm.org.au broadcasting all Central Coast Mariners Games.
6PR Perth 882AM www.mytalk.com.au broadcasting all Perth Glory Games.
Radio Network NZ www.radionetwork.co.nz broadcasting all Wellington Pheonix Games

So it will be interesting to see what happens in the next few weeks with other teams.

These are not radio programs they are broadcasts of games. There is no news of Newcastle but i am sure Aaron and his team will call again. However it is a shame Sydney and Brisbane are still without a broadcast team after 4 seasons in the league. Surely they could do better to promote themselves and game to major radio networks.

Maybe whisper the suggestion to Singo next time you see him, that 2GB could do a Summer Continuous Call starring Darryl Brohman as head commentator and side line comments from Rebecca Wilson!

(Seriously though, I think the Sydney Radio stations are probably asking too much for the spot, and the issue of what sort of advertising the call could bring to their station.)
