Ned Zelic Retires

I know its wiki, but could this be the end for The Ned?

On the 15th of March 2007, Zelic joined Georgian club FC Dinamo Tbilisi on a free transfer.

He announced his retirement from football on 12 August 2008, following the outbreak of war between Georgia and Russia.

Along with Kewell and Okon, he was the best we have produced. To see him glide past opponents effortlessly the way he did in his prime was a joy to watch.

There's very few people who know the true story, but it does seem as though his ego got in the way or 30 or 40 more caps for the Footballeroos. He was an immense talent that could have went much farther than did.

Kool & Duke.......... are the only players we have produced of absolute class Ned & Okon IMO in the same class as Marko & Vinny.

Marinersman Ned told the story himself one day on telly. Ned said he was in the middle of contract negotiations and his club said we do not want you to go. Ned phoned Frank and said am I needed as there is a lot of heat here, Frank said yes you need to come. So when Ned was not choosen he exploded and said in my world I put everything one the line my club, future dealing with other clubs because you said I was needed and it was urgent. Then and their said well I off then how can I explain to everyone why this match was so important, ......... but thats what Ned said.
