Melbourne Victory captain Kevin Musc**t could find himself in hot water from Football Federation Australia after brushing away the hand of a match referee.
Musc**t angrily confronted the match officials at half-time during Melbourne's 3-1 loss to Perth at Members Equity Stadium on Saturday night.
The 35-year-old was upset a foul wasn't called against Perth's Dino Djulbic after the Glory defender challenged Victory keeper Michael Theoklitos in the air.
After Musc**t vented his frustrations, he appeared to fend away the hand of assistant referee Michael Nugus who was trying to guide the Victory hard-nut in the direction of the change rooms.
Victory coach Ernie Merrick stepped between the pair to diffuse the situation.
Musc**t was not penalised for the incident and refused to elaborate on what happened when questioned about it after the match.
"I shook his hand after the game and wished him all the best," a tight-lipped Musc**t said.
Last season, Central Coast Mariners keeper Danny Vukovic was handed a 15-month ban, with six months of that suspended, for manhandling referee Mark Shield in the grand final.
Although Musc**t's actions were far less aggressive than that of Vukovic's, the veteran still faces an anxious wait to see whether FFA takes any action.
Meanwhile, Merrick declared striker Archie Thompson a certain starter for the Victory's clash with Newcastle on December 19.
Thompson missed the loss to Perth after copping a knock to his knee at training but Merrick was confident his star charge would shake off the injury.
The Victory were due to play Adelaide next week but now have a bye as the Asian Champions League finalists contest the FIFA Club World Cup in Japan.
"Archie was tackled, just a mishap at training in the last training session," Merrick said.
"We thought he'd be able to run it off, we didn't think it would be a problem.
"But it stiffened up overnight and on the flight and again we thought he'd come good but it never quite eventuated.
"It's just irritated and inflamed.
"He got a knock on the side of the knee when he was with the national team, that's going back a while, and he just irritated it."
