ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Matty Simon V Josh Kennedy

Could Matty Simon offer more to the National Team than Josh kennedy?

  • Is that even a question? Matty has more speed and even knows how to use his feet.

Tbh I don't think any of our strikers, and it would be the same with Matty, are helped by PV's 'system'.

The way we play atm..... y'know like the away team even at home leaves our strikers hung out to dry imo.

Until PV fails to qualify for a WC he will be safe. :(
As for the question, give it about 3 years and undoubtably Matt Simon will be ahead of Jesus. ;)

i chose No
if there was a 3 year option...maybe. Especially at the developmental rate he is at.
Kennedy is in his prime...Simon has a long way to go yet.

Kennedy is pretty toothless at international level but would be a revelation in HAL.

Simon will be better in a couple of years due to his tenacity and fitness.

Our cat could.

Well I'll give you it would undoubtedly be faster and more agile... but it's a cat...
There's no way it should get a start over my dog!

Kennedy is much, much better in the air and technically is much, much better as well. Simon is a little better in picking up scraps than Kennedy is, he's scored quite a few goals from big defensive mistakes but it comes back to the old argument of "he wouldn't score if he wasn't in that position", so he gets points for that at least.

If you put them in the same attack, Kennedy would score a lot more goals than Simon. I can't help but feel he would be perfect for you guys.

No he wouldn't fit into our style of play, didn't you know that we like to play a short passing game now? ;)

TBF, anyone who could score more than once would be a welcome addition to our strike force.
