Some good news on the COE

CENTRAL Coast Mariners Developments Trust are proud to announce the signing of a 25 year Lease for the soon to be constructed Hotel at their Centre of Excellence in Tuggerah.

Toga Hotels have won the bidding to be Lessee of the Hotel to be operated under its Travelodge brand. The Hotel will be known as ‘Travelodge Hotel Mariners Tuggerah’ and is anticipated to open in late 2013.

Travelodge Hotel Mariners Tuggerah will feature all the trademarks of the Travelodge brand, including comfortable accommodation, friendly service and great value.

Importantly, Travelodge Hotel Mariners Tuggerah will be a cornerstone of the Hyundai A-League club’s unique, community-focussed sporting development, providing 130 hotel rooms in a market identified by Toga Hotels Travelodge as strategically significant.

Central Coast Mariners Chairman, Mr Peter Turnbull, today described the collaboration with Toga Hotels as a landmark agreement for the current Hyundai A-League Premiers.

“Our agreement with Toga Hotels is a major milestone in the history and development of the Central Coast Mariners Football Club,” Mr Turnbull said.

“Toga Hotel’s initial lease of Travelodge Hotel Mariners Tuggerah is for a period 15 years, with two five year options built into the agreement.”

“Travelodge Hotel Mariners Tuggerah will generate significant and guaranteed revenue as we work towards our goal of building the Central Coast Mariners brand not only in Australia but across Asia.”

With Stage 1 of the Mariners Centre of Excellence now complete, Travelodge Hotel Mariners Tuggerah will form the basis of Stage 2 of the development, which also includes a state-of-the-art aquatic and hydrotherapy centre.

“We have received our Construction Certificate from Council now for the commencement of Stage 2. We will now be commencing the construction works next month,” he said.

Allan Vidor, Managing Director of Toga Group, said: “Toga Hotels is delighted to have been appointed operator of Travelodge Hotel Mariners Tuggerah by the Central Coast Mariners. It is testament to Toga Hotels’ excellent track record of delivering highly optimised investor returns that we continue to attract high profile partnerships. Along with Central Coast Mariners, 2012 has also seen Toga Hotels enter a new operating agreement with the Australian Turf Club for Adina Apartment Hotel Royal Randwick Racecourse. We welcome the opportunity to manage hotels for potential investors.”

Travelodge Hotel Mariners Tuggerah will meet accommodation demand from sporting groups and fans wanting premier proximity to the Centre of Excellence as well as Gosford’s Bluetongue Stadium, business clients from the adjacent Tuggerah Business Park and Westfield Tuggerah, and leisure travellers wanting to break up their road trips.

Additionally, the Hotel’s conferencing facilities are expected to be a hit with businesses located in the Tuggerah Business Park and on the Central Coast.

Upon completion, the Central Coast Mariners Centre of Excellence will also feature a 3,000-seat stadium, seven full-sized training pitches, a six-storey office complex, and a licensed club with a 400-person capacity function centre.

About Travelodge Hotel Mariners Tuggerah:
• 130 rooms – including family rooms to accommodate large groups
• Three conference rooms
• On-site restaurant

It's fantastic news. Not sure about the name though.... "Travelodge Hotel Mariners Tuggerah" it's like they've just shoved every brand in there to keep all the parties happy. It really is a mouthful.

And that is a WOW! from me. Adds a very substantial layer of quality to Peter Turnbull's dream. It not only will allow the CoE to offer accomodation to sports teams who want to use the Centre (Asian sides in particular could use as a training base) but offers a big boost to local businesses at Tuggerah Business Park - hell, even the Russians could stay there! No wonder Turnbull has been smiling recently :eek:verhead:

Certainly excellent news to know that the plans are being realised. Both the Club and Travelodge will be big winners here, not to mention the local community.

I like theyve included mariners in the branding myself, just the sort of partnership with business the league needs more of. Good to piggyback on their marketing for starters.
