Marinators Projects for V4 2008/2009

Hey all,

It seems there are quite a few projects popping up around the place from ideas on tifo, to Danny face-masks, shirts, flags and red cards.

I've taken the liberty to create a thread as one central point to be used for these projects, my idea being that I can create a HTML or similar table to list projects, who is undertaking them and current progress. Thus keeping track of what still needs to be done and where people can help if they like.

I'm not sure what the general consensus on this will be as we really need the numbers for it to work, but if there's interest, I'll get started.
I see it as a much more effective way of keeping everything organised, easily accessible and a good way to bring new people in to help out the Marinators and those that have browsed and posted a bit but never really got active with the group (just like me).

So far there are a few ideas floating around the forum.

• Red Cards
• Giant Mariners Scarf

I'm suuuuure there are definitely others that I've missed! (which is one reason I think having a central and organised, well displayed thread is essential)

Please feel free to add your opinion on my idea and let me know of any projects I've missed!

this is just the kind of thing that the Marinators Club was created for and as time goes on, thankfully, people like you step up with ideas and a willing hand.

I'm sure that these ideas would be greatly received at the next Gen meeting to be held immediately after the AGM on 26th March and if the members agree, funds could be made available for this kind of thing.

I shall check the details of the next meeting and make an endeavor to attend.

I see this as more of a community thing, possibly not even requiring much in the way of funds but being rather expensive in teamwork. I'm keen to see how it goes.

what are you making it out of?
and where will something that big be put in bay 16?

I'm guessing it could be hung across the back of the stand, or over the front railing or something.
Maybe even used like the big mariners "flag" thing and have lots of people holding it up.

im tryin 2 differant ones atm doubled up cotton and a synthetic one..im hoping to have it on poles like the big flags attached to the signage behind bay 16 but above the sponser board so its not blocking any signage

Im all in for helpin out wherever i can. So is my GF and little Bro. Im not a paid up marinator member yet but i will be soon i can guarantee you that. BTW is membership available all year round?

Yes, membership is avail all year round. It goes from Feb to Feb, so if you join in June, you only get 8 months for the same price as 12 months, so the earlier the better.

Ive got an idea for the red cards, (not 100% sure) i may have 2 guilotines at my disposal. this would save time on cutting out cards individually. I also have a laminating machine at work somewhere. its only small but it does a good job.

Awesome dude, I've got a small laminating machine here too and I'm pretty sure a guillotine as well.
Once we get it more finalised, we could split the load between us, would be much more efficient!
