ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Santalab saves BladesComments and replies2 April 2011-PA Sport

Brendon Santalab scored twice as Chengdu Blades came from behind three times to earn a 3-3 draw with defending champion Shandong Luneng at Shandong Sports Centre Stadium in its opening game of the Chinese Super League season.

The host got off to a dream start as Han Peng fired home a rebound following a goalmouth scramble after just one minute. Santalab cancelled the goal out 10 minutes later, volleying home at the far post from Wang Cunguo's cross from the left.

Wang Yongpo restored Shandong's lead with a spectacular free-kick in first-half stoppage time.

Santalab brought Chengdu level again four minutes after the hour mark, collecting a long cross by Feng Zhuoyi before steering a shot past Shandong goalkeeper Yang Cheng.

The home side went 3-2 in front two minutes later when Obina poked home from close range, but Ricardo's underhit backpass let in Adam Kwasnik, who netted the equaliser 11 minutes from time.

"The hard-earned point was the biggest reward for my team because they played very well in front of the defending champions," said Chengdu manager Lawrie McKinna.

"But we shouldn't let complacency affect us since it was just the beginning of the season."

Shandong's Han said: "I think our strikers need more support from the midfield. Unfortunately, our midfield play in the second half wasn't good enough to create more scoring chances."

Tianjin Teda beat Shenzhen Kingway 1-0 at Tianjin Teda Stadium, Serbian Marko Zoric scoring the only goal of the game three minutes after the half-hour mark.

Shanghai Shenhua and Qingdao Zhongneng drew 3-3, while Hangzhou Greentown defeated Nanchang Bayi 2-0.

Is Lawrie and Kwas's involvement at Chengdu anything to do with the Shiefield Utd link, or is that just a coincidence? Seriously, I'm struggling to see any real benefit from the relationship with the Blades.

Particularly with them being in deep relegation trouble at the moment according to the table published in the paper this morning. It's the bottom three go down isn't it?

It's probably difficult for any mutually beneficial stuff to come out of the relationship when neither team is financially well off at the moment.

It wouldn't surprise me though if Lawrie's and Kwassie's opportunities were facilitated by the fact that the clubs have some prior relationship due to the Sheffield United connection.

I am in two minds about the Sheffield connection. One says never bite the hand that feeds you and if McCabe has been paying some of the bills then thank you. However from where Sheffield were when this was signed off on (heading towards the EPL?) to where they are now is the worrying aspect. If McCabe can't afford to support us then we need to cut our ties and find another investor (a big fat German or Spanish club please)!
