Sorry, completely f**king rigged that show is. Great for the coastie, but she should have dissapeared for each of the last 4 eliminations. Couldn't watch it.

She runs an IT place on the coast, apparently she's ditched that for good now! Will be interesting to see how she runs her own place, as she got flustered really easily... Pissed off customers are a lot worse than overly-dressed-in-cravat judges...

I never liked Poh tho...wore too much blush. Annoyed me. I really wanted Chris to win...anyone who can make a Beer and Chocolate cupcake owns my heart.

I was going for Julia and Justine to win who tbf are better chefs than both the finalists - Lucky they got well respected mentors out of it which career wise is better than the main prize....

Poh really annoyed me too - so glad Julie won :D! Can't wait to see her restaurant in action. She seems like a lovely lady

Saw a few episodes of this and have to agree with Poko's comments.

Julie was inconsistent at times, and even mucked up her most favoured dish when things didn't go exactly to plan.

I didn't like it when the show brought back several competitors who had been eliminated. Poh was one of those. I was critical of Poh for leaning upon her ethnic background a little too much.

I don't know that opening a restaurant in these times is exactly a good bit of business acumen, but given her fame she may be able to get it going.

While a good show if totally unrealistic, none of them are chefs the title is misleading.

Good point raised there Dru. What IS the difference between a Chef and a Cook in the professional cooking kitchen?  ???

We should of come first in SYTYCD...Regardless of where she came from...Amy was by far the better dancer who had a broader range...I am boycotting that show. It turned into So You Think You Can Hip Hop. Show me a fkn Popper try and do a time step, fouettes or any other form of dance genre, and I might be impressed.

Entertaining TV to be sure, and great for Channel Ten ratings....as an audience though, we were highly manipulated, advertised to and generally used!

I'm not sure I want to go to a restaurant where the 'chef' (cook) has dripped sweat all over the food with her loose hair (not exactly Food Act standard is it?)

I'm also not sure that the restaurant industry is the wisest choice for a mature person with little experience.  The book spin-off sounds good but the reality of getting customers in and ensuring they return might prove harder.  For a young aspiring chef, winning would have only been the start of a long career with many years of kitchen drudgery ahead of them to learn the trade properly.

I also agree with poko about Chris...beer and food, the perfect partners!

The apprenticeship that Chefs have gone through (3 or maybe 4 years including tafe in this country, similar training overseas I believe). Is akin to getting a plumber or a home handyman to fix a leak, both will fix it but the plumber probably knows a hell of a lot more about it.

Don't get me wrong cooks can and do do amazing food, I just find it a bit disrespectful, maybe like taking ordinary drivers onto a show called master race driver then give the winner of a series of challenges a chance to test drive race cars and a bit of cash. It just makes a mockery of those that have worked hard for what they have got.

I certainly wouldn't want to work in Julia's Kitchen! Seeing her handle a knife scares me.

Having said all that a lot of the contestants may one day make great chefs once/if they go through proper training. My money is on Justine having a very successful career as a chef soon.

Can not understand how she won ?  there was that time when...

She didnt cook the fish,
She made a roast with not gravy,
Cake that looked like crap, with no iceing/sauce... and they are jsut the ones of the top of my head.

Cos i think everyone served raw food, left things off the plate and made awful looking dishes at some point,  and the best chef left before the finals.

Chris would have a good resturant but i'll stick with Pokey and eat dessert there - not into eating pig trotters and bone marrow. :D
