ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

The ambitious Cove outfit, coached by former Bankstown City Lions assistant George Karatzis, has pooled together a number of former State League stars, but have two familiar faces including former Sydney Olympic striker Derek Poimer as well as former Queensland Roar skipper Chad Gibson.

Speaking of former A-League players, Sydney United are trying to recapture their past with Ante Milicic and David Zdrilic now back playing there. Milicic is player-coach, while Zdrilic has done work for Fox Sports and ESPN in the past year.

You'd argue that Milicic was the better player of the two, he continued to do well in the NSL and scored a fair few for the Jets in V1.

I remember discussing the NSL at the time when Sydney United were top of the league (not that I followed a team, just was well aware of the league) with a mate, and asked him what he thought of Zdrilic. He thought that Zdrilic happened to be "in the right team at the right time"- which fate was to prove.

So what hapopened to cause his drop from Captain of the Roar in v1, to playing in a local comp now?

Oh I dunno, but I'll take a stab at this....

a) lack of ability at the top level.
b) lack of leadership ability
c) some injuries or two
d) believing Miron Bleiberg.

e) all of the above?

After we drew with Sydney in Sydney last season, I saw one of the most beautiful girls I have ever seen. Truly breathtaking. After she had passed and I was roused from my stunned state I was informed that she was with none other than Chad Gibson. He is one lucky man.
