ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Holly Cr*p - I went to the Gym

Today I took the big step and went back to the gym, run by Dick Caine, the swim coach at Carss Park pool. This entailed me getting up at 5.15 this morning.

Now, I haven't done ANYTHING for around a year, so this was daunting to say the least. Started on the bike for 15 mins and nearly died. Then the orbitor, the one where you step around in circles and more your arms back and forth - holly cr*p. Lasted 10 mins and by this time my legs were burning. Finished by stretching for 15 minutes.

Tomorrow, it's in the pool for a swim session. They may need the lifeguard nearby. So if you hear on the news about a girl almost drowning tomorrow - it will be me.

Planning on going 5 days per week doing a little bit and building up as I get fitter - but holly cr*p, I'm sore.

Yeh, I've been going for several weeks now; about 4 times a week. Legs feel like jelly walking out of the gym at times. I haven't been to the gym since last monday because I had to go to NZ for work. Consequently, Olivia (14 year old daughter) is "making" me go to the 1 hour long cycle class ("spin class" in gym speak) tonight so there is a high chance of some sort of cardiac failure in the very near future.

Stuff the swimming thing Mariner Girl, that would kill me these days. And thats an amazing thing for me to reflect upon considering I used to be a Surf Lifesaver at Gerringong SLSC many decades ago.

Ah, I remember the good ole spin class - nasty!
I do need to get back in the swimming because I have this stupid
warped notion of doing triathlons again. I think I need therapy!

Hehe, good luck with that one! I can see the attraction, but I get way too many aches and pains just going to the gym to even contemplate a triathlon. Walking the City to Surf is more my style.

I will have to give serious consideration to getting myself back to the gym. I am having surgery on my knee on Thursday and if all goes well I will have to start rehab soon. It's been killing me having to sit out the majority of this season and I will have to make up for it next year. Before I do though I will probably have a few near death experiences at the gym..lol

Gymnopedia? Ahhh, no; I'm trying to give up dancing naked in front of large audiences.

Ryan - hope you recover from the knee surgery and subsequent rehap.

Goldenboy - where do get your quirkies from. lol

Bex - my naked dancing days have not been born yet, but I have threatened a nudie run in celebratation of a goal or two by our players.

I would really love to make witty and suggestive comment on that but considering I'm married with two teenage daughters and not knowing your age I reckon I had better zip the lip before I get myself into trouble. Gee its crap getting old.

And if you're reading this Leigh, luv you Sweety  :vhappy:

So, part of my re-invention is a 15 day detox, starting next Monday.
This calls for no dairy products or caffeine. Now, I cannot start my day without a skim cappuccino, so today in preparation of my detox, I asked for a soy decaf.

Result - major FAIL. It was disgusting. Think I might ditch the coffee altogether and go with the herbal teas for the duration of the detox.  :headbutt:
