From the Sun:
A TOP Premier League star was held at knifepoint during a raid on his luxury home.
Blackburn Rovers ace Vince Grella became the 17th rich footballer from North-West clubs to fall victim to armed robbers in less than three years.
Four masked thugs burst through the door of his 1million house, threatened him with a blade and demanded jewellery and watches.
Stunned Grella, 29, then saw the mob swipe his car keys and speed away in his BMW 4x4.
The Aussie star's ordeal mirrors that of 16 other players who have been targeted in raids across Cheshire, Manchester and Merseyside.
Cops think some robberies are linked to the same crooks while others were copycat raids.
The haul swiped from Grella's home, including the grey X5 car which was later found dumped, was estimated at 50,000.
Grella's wife Barbara and twin daughters Victoria and Sophia, who were born in 2002, were not at home at the time.
But they were said to have been left deeply traumatised. A police spokeswoman said: "Fortunately nobody was hurt."
Neither Grella, who joined Rovers from Italian side Torino in 2008 for 4million, nor his club had any comment.
Previous raids have seen footballers and their families bashed and thrown around - with security experts fearing a player or WAG could end up being killed.
Last month two thugs in balaclavas smashed their way into the home of Man United star Federico Macheda to steal a 20,000 watch.
And five months ago team-mate Darren Fletcher's fiance Hayley Grice had a "terrifying" ordeal when an armed gang broke into their house.
Knife raiders also targeted Manchester City's Roque Santa Cruz and England striker Emile Heskey last year.
Liverpool has seen ten players hit, including captain Steven Gerrard.
Dirk Kuyt, Pepe Reina, Daniel Agger and Lucas Leiva have been burgled in the past two years, as have ex-Kop stars Robbie Keane, Peter Crouch, Jermaine Pennant, Florent Sinama Pongolle and Jerzy Dudek.
Everton's Tony Hibbert and Andy van der Meyde were also victims in 2006.
