ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Gold Coast United owner Clive Palmer has set up a breakaway Australian football organisation designed to replace Football Federation Australia, who he has labelled "incompetent".

The rebel billionaire on Thursday announced the establishment of 'Football Australia' with former A-League boss Archie Fraser to be CEO.

Palmer said Football Australia would aim to "oversee football at a grassroots and senior level and ensure the game is operated with transparency and fairness."

"The FFA has lurched from one disaster to another and needs to be replaced," Palmer said.

"They staged a hugely embarrassing World Cup bid which blew $46 million of taxpayers' money for one vote and they are running an A-League competition which is bleeding money from club owners.

"The fans, players and people with a passion for football in Australia deserve better and Football Australia will be based on full transparency and corporate governance.

"We want to ensure there is fairness in the game for all stakeholders and end the dictatorship that the game has endured under the FFA."

Palmer confirmed Football Australia has been registered with the Australian Investment and Securities Commission (ASIC).

Its slogan will be "We Kick Harder".

Fraser, who Palmer described as "one of the best administrators in Australian sport", resigned as the head of the A-League in 2010 after more than a year in the job.

The establishment of Football Australia is the latest twist in Palmer's stoush with the FFA, who on Wednesday terminated his licence at Gold Coast United.

Palmer said the decision to revoke his A-League licence demostrated "the need for a complete overhaul of football administration in Australia."

Palmer re-iterated his plan to challenge the FFA's decision in the courts.

"It was a disgraceful move by Frank Lowy and the FFA as we weren’t given adequate notification or a fair hearing," he said.

"I am confident that decision can be successfully challenged and we owe it to the Gold Coast supporters and players to keep the club in a national competition.

"The FFA has just decided to cut Gold Coast adrift because Lowy and his chief henchman Ben Buckley want a team in greater western Sydney, even though they are a million miles behind the NRL and the AFL."

More to come ...
