ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

FFA Cup

OK. The proposed FFA Cup. Will it happen? Won't it happen? As a fan I cant think of a better thing. It would provide a perfect connection and pathway for football followers to continue watching the sport through to a National level. We would also be the only sport in Australia that would allow the mug punter to take on the professional player in the ultimate quest to obtain a piece of silverware. How would it work? Would teams play in a zone to cut down on costs? Would A League clubs come in in say the third round. What would be the likely qualification process? Thoughts anyone?

FFA said they have it ready to go but need a lot of coin to fund it.... read into that not before the next media deal and then only if they get it funded...

The desire is there by everyone and most clubs would sell their first born to have a tilt at it I reckon. IMO funding should not be the issue. Clubs should pay their own way to begin with. Keep the game regionalised at the start of the comp to cut down on costs for clubs.

Giving the money issue with most A-League clubs and the lower level clubs also need to fund themselves I think you underestimate how much it cost to put up a National Competitionn of any kind never mind something as complex as an FA Cup...
