Inspired by several recent threads....
I could probably say each of these has been my favourite at one time or another, that's why i've gone for a top 6, I couldn't really leave any of them out. The order is still changing and probably will for the rest of my life.
1. Abbey Road - The Side-B medley is the single best thing on any Beatles album... plus "Something" never ceases to amaze
2. The Beatles (White Album) - hugely under-rated, though I can see why it wasn't an instant hit since it would have been pretty Out-There at the time. With the benefit of hindsight and 40yrs of the rest of the musical world evolving, this album not only stands the test of time, but keeps climbing higher on my list as time goes on.
= 3. Rubber Soul & Revolver - so many classics; IMO these are the milestones marking the transition from the Beatlemania live 50's rock 'n' roll sound to the focus on brilliantly conceived and produced albums
5. Sgt. Pepper's LHCB (the original concept album; the first one that really stood out from the rest and became my favourite when I was a kid playing my parents' records.)
6. Let It Be - Not a very polished album, has it's ups & downs, but I love the "Jammy" raw vibe
Please contribute......
