E-Group Security Complaints

I am still seething about the disgraceful behaviour of the Security at BT last night.

It only takes a couple of retarded thugs to escalate a simple chuck out into a full blown assault.

You could see they were spoiling for trouble from the moment they started on Auburn mariner in the first half.

Most of them were Ok but those two trouble makers need to be weeded out.

Who is responsible for controlling those E Group trolls?

Are they employed by Gosford Council?

Are the Mariners management aware of this companies behaviour?

I know the Police have the number of the thug that that assaulted the fan but who do i speak to, to ensure his smug face is not seen at BT again.

I'd be suprised if the fan doesn't sue E Group for assault.

Wombat, I didn't make it to the game last night, would you mind explaining a bit more about what happened?

Does anyone know what E-Group Security are meant to be doing at the ground? A definition of "security" is The state of being free from danger or threat which implies E-Group Security are meant to be preventing things like fights breaking out, but all I have seen this season is pretty much the opposite.

It's been brewing in Bay 16 for quite a few games now, E-Group Security employees patrol up and down the aisles of the bay, glaring in at us as if we are prisoners and they are wardens. Most of them appear to be keen to intimidate us rather than keeping the place "secure", of "free from danger or threat".

Most weeks there are words between E-Group Security employees and people at the back of Bay 16 regarding swearing. One week an E-Group Security employee even declared the whole back two rows of people were "on report", whatever that means.

On another occasion, two E-Group Security employees went down either side of Bay 16 and entered the bay from either side, to tell a couple of people who were shirtless to put their shirts back on.

And recently, an E-Group Security employee attempted to get everyone in Bay 16 to sit down.

So that's the sort of things they are targeting, but what do they ignore?

A few weeks ago a fight broke out down the front involving some randoms, and it was left unchecked.

Now there was a big punch-up at the back of the bay involving E-Group Security.

Is the role of E-Group Security to prevent violence, or provoke it? Why should we, paying customers, have to put up with constant intimidation from E-Group Security?

Considered contacting CCM and Bluetongue Stadium for an explanation, but didn't bother, it might be time to see what the deal is after this latest incident.

If you contact CCM they should be responsive. They need all the fans in that area they can get. I will make an enquiry tomorrow. Let you know how I go.

First incident involved Auburn mariner who it looked like they were trying to throw out for yelling abuse (ffs thats what we are meant to do). He gave them a spray and when Rowdy and a few others got involved the E Group muppets backed away.
A chant of "security out" went up and they backed off.
One of the more obnoxious of the security personel then said to a group of blokes at the back of 18.."anyone want to have a go, outside now"..and trotted off. Everyone just laughed at him as he didnt look much and was clearly abit of a nutter.

Nothing much happened until about 15 min from the end two blokes had an argument and apparently a punch was thrown (it was a domestic dispute over a woman, nothing to do with Football). They started to drag the two blokes out who were intent on having a dig at each other.
I recognised one of the blokes (old team-mate) and tried to calm it down as i could see he was going to get himself arrested. He did start to calm down and to the credit of 2 or 3 of the security guards they let go of him.If they had stood back for 2 seconds I could have walked him out. Two of them wouldn't let go and one of them started landing cheap shots while i and another security guard had his arms pinned.
I then tried to stop the cheap shot merchant from landing anymore and was wrestled away by a couple of security guards.
I have no problem with that and i didn't throw any punches as i was trying to placate the whole situation.

You could see some of the security guards knew their colleague was totally out of order. I got dragged away by a mate and then the police turned up.
They took my details and a few other peoples and said that Chris could press charges if he wanted to as what the security guard did was assault.
The security guard in question is without doubt a thug and couldn't wait to find an excuse to start the violence. He was completely unprofessional and I would bet London to a brick he has several priors for assault.
Obviously a night club bouncer who is used to beating up drunks outside the back up clubs.....not the sort of person that should be working in a "customer service" role at the Football.

E group need to weed out these bad apples....and fast.

The behavior of the security staff at the stadium is very very ordinary. I have worked in security for over 20 years and cannot believe the way they go about their business. I had one security guard tell me If I swore I would be thrown out. I had another guard tell me I had to sit down or he would call the police. The response by by the guards behind bay 17 was disproportionate to the threat. I hope that some of them are charged with assault and thrown out of the industry.

A couple of quick observations in relation to the law. Security officers MUST display their security licence at all times (SECURITY INDUSTRY ACT 1997 - SECT 36, it must be clearly visible at the front of the body, and not obstructed by anything. It must also be produced on demand (SECURITY INDUSTRY ACT 1997 - SECT 35) if the security officer has any dealings with you. You are permitted to take their name and security licence number to lodge a complaint with their company or the police.

If they are a Provisional licence holder (it has a big red P on the licence)then they must be under direct supervision of a competent person (SECURITY INDUSTRY REGULATION 2007 - REG 19). That means as far as practicable within line of sight and able to render immediate assistance to the Provisional licence holder. If a Provisional officer is by himself point this out to him (I have) and hopefully watch him crawl away.

Contact E Group direct at 02 9561 3111 or info@egroup.cc and register your disgust at their behaviour. Contact Council, Stadium Management and the Club and air your concerns. If enough people raise their concerns hopefully something can be done about it.

Lastly a question. Has anyone from Bay 16 actually approached E Group to talk about the issues in a reasoned manner. I am not talking about at the game but outside of the stadium. Try for a collaborative approach to the issue. From what I can see the boys up the back police the bay fairly well and get security involved when needed.

I'm a former Security Licence holder, and administered the Master Licence for our organisation.

The details are all here: http://www.police.nsw.gov.au/services/security_licensing_and_enforcement_directorate/security_licence/fact_sheets

It is important to make complaints, if valid, as the Master Licence holder can lose their licence and therefore cease operations if they are pinged with too many breaches.

I was trying to find that. Must have been looking in the wrong area.

Just a quick update. I called E Group this morning to pass on my dissatisfaction with the way that their staff behave. I spoke to a guy called Simon who was well aware of the issues which occurred on Tuesday evening. I have followed up with an email highlighting a number of areas of concern. I also made the suggestion that perhaps security should try and establish some form of rapport with people rather than try to dictate things in a neanderthal manner.

I encourage you all to do the same.

My god. After reading that...the amount of breachs was unbelievable.

I'm going to ring on Tuesday and if I don't like what I hear I will be recommending legal action.

Local lawyers will be licking their lips.

I haven't been aware of any simmering conflict between bay 16 and E group but it certainly explains the extraordinary lack of discipline from some of it's staff. It does make you wonder who was supervising these monkeys.

this season is the only season i am yet to be ejected
(still a couple of games to go)
ive been ejected many times by sub human E group security employees
in about 1990 i used to catch the school bus from gosford station and i remember a bus load of window lickers always staring at me! Guess where they work now ?

correct
E group security
the police have no say inside the stadium
either do bluetongue staff if security want you out your out
i have formed a friendship with the regular police in attendance and a few bt security staff and all have said that the e group security employees are brain dead and heavy handed at a-league but run and hide at nrl (a-legue have 2x security than nrl yet nrl has 2x attendance)
when i contacted e group security head officer on game day he accused me of being a liar and when we requested the security guard who through a beer over 5 of us including a grandmother, his id no. to make a complaint they both proceeded to cover their badge with their hand and when i took a photo of it i was ejected
in all honesty i think E group security cause more issues than the patrons do

Has anyone with issues contacted the Mariners or the Stadium offices? Maybe if you voice your disapproval a different security company will be contracted next season. Also post to Mariners facebook and twitter for others to see and comment too.

Fair dos at least no bottle caps are getting through.
EGroup 's reputation must precede them because those guys on Tuesday came and stood next to us and were clearly out to fight security. I've seen them before and one of them likes ro shout out "incite a riot" as chants die down.

WTF

Who came and stood next to you and shouted " incite a riot"?

What are you talking about?

Most people carry smart phones so why not start taking video of the heavy handed security and send to mariners corporate and the security conpany with formal complaints.
