Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. Australian striker Mark Viduka has defended himself against Newcastle fans who jeered him when he limped off the field injured during his team's Boxing Day defeat by Wigan.

Viduka was taunted by Toon Army chants of "you're not fit to wear the shirt" as he was substituted after tearing a groin muscle during the 2-1 English Premier League loss.

Slow, past it, no need for him to even be thought about when discussing a front man for the national team.  Can totally understand the Geordie's frustration - sang that exact same song to him in Bangkok.

When you consider the expectations and sheer weight of history that the Toon have of their CF's, he was a "strange" purchase to say the least
