Because he was almost bigger then the manager at the hieght of his power now any one who has that much repect and power  is a hero to me.
+ read his book and see how much shit he had to put up with as a kid true rags to riches tale.

very much the same reason people worship a murderous despot like che - ignorance, ignorance and ignorance

plenty of other people who went from rags to riches while facing adversity yet did not do it through violence, intimidation and thuggery

I think to fully understand some thing you must look at all parts of it in football its the game to the players to the Firms. I am just learning about wat its like and to see how some one can come out of it like Cass has done i think its a inspiation.

Blair, do you not find Pennant's violent past abhorrent? His entertaining book doesn't absolve him from his direct crimes and inciting others to commit crime in my opinion.

when i was playing for newcastle croatia ivan milat used to come and watch us play

i also remember coming across his name in the sydney united membership list a few years later when working there
