ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Arnie's cunning plan .. or how I grew to love taking penalties

At the members post-match function Graham Arnold revealed his cunning plan for the finals series.

After the Melbourne Heart game at home on Sat 30 March he will have the players practising penalties at the northern (Bay 16) end.

The cunning part of the plan is that he wants the bays full of fans baying for blood or chearing them on, to give a more game day feel. He wants everyone who can stay behind to fill the northern bays for the penalty taking.

What an awesopme idea! Might need to bring some goalies down from the groups as well - they're probably too used to shooting at Matty and Pasfield ;) Make it a stranger and have the crowd yell at them... And don't let anyone go home until they get it right every time ;)

Personally, I think he's just cunning, like a fox which has just escaped from an insane asylum ;) They're TOTALLY in control of penalties, just lulling every other team in the league, into a false sense of security, before the finals series, at which point we'll start firing on all cylinders ;)

You only have to watch the shooting practice before each game to realise how much we need this sort of thing.

I roughly counted yesterday and we hit the net something like 3 times out of around 25 shots. Roar were slotting them away continually. They seem to take it all very casually.
