ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Anyone going to the World Cup

Hey guys

Was curious if anyone is going to the world cup.  I am going over with the GGArmy and was wondering if i will be sharing the experience with any fellow mariner supporters.  I am heading over with a mate of mine who is a Jets man, so if i had a fellow coastie i would be able to give him all the shit him and all my other mates give me (I live in newcastle, but born and bred on the coast) over the years

I'm going but will be avoiding the GGA like the plague.

Don't want my world cup experience ruined by flares.

Yeah i have only really heard negative comments about the GGA but at the end of the day we all have one common goal when we get over there and that is to support Australia.  I know of previous indiscretions with the GGA (Flares and what not) but to tell you the truth i believe these trouble makers will be put off by the cost of the tour and the fact it is being held in a volatile country like South Africa.  I just hope that the 'stigma' attached with GGA doesnt cause any disharmony between myself or my mate with other members of the Australian fans as i said before we are all there to support the socceroos.
I was very reluctant to go with GGA as if i organised this trip independently i would of saved some fair coin, but this is a organised tour in a very unsafe country.  I dont have to worry about staying in a seedy hostel and hope my belongings dont get stolen, it takes away the hassle of queing up for tickets and can provide me with peace of mind, which i believe is priceless.
I am planning on bringing a fair bit of CCM gear with me to give to the young children and adults of South Africa as a way of spreading the word that we are the best god damn team in the country and recruitng a african following (i know this will be near impossible) but hey its the world cup and people of SA (God willing) will be in a harmonius approach to life so i will survive which no doubt will be the trip of a life time!!!

Zycie, fair dinkum mate, are for real?  I said i was going over to give to the people of SA to spread our team name and hopefully develop some interest.  When i was 8 years old my cousin sent me a man u hat and from that day i have always followed manchester united.  Granted, CCM are a smaller team and not nearly as successful as man u but just spreading our name cant hurt.  I aint going to be wearing the CCM yellow i will be loud and proud in my Green and Gold having the time of my life and if it is in a organised tour with a bad name, hey i will give them the benefit of the doubt.  Hey Zycie, enjoy getting up early and then having to go to work while i have the trip of a lifetime with people who live and breathe football
