The guy didn't mention possible variants to all the maths formula like the possibility of swirling wind in the stadium or Carlos' body posture at the time of taking the shot (leaning away from the ball to place a curve on the delivery?).

Bloody great shot though, and if it was to be rated like they do in the Diving Comps. that attempt would have rated very high in difficulty. Accomplished with uncanny perfection although I think the goalie may have got a hand onto it (which also may have aided the curve into the goal).

He's a dick. Those numbers and whatnot are all horseshit.

f**k the maths, you can see exactly how he did it. The keeper thought he was crossing, so started coming out. The shot bent away hard because he struck the ball coming across his body with the outside of his boot. Absolutely anyone can hit a shot, pass or whatever that goes hard and bends away hard by striking with the outside of the boot. They're hard to control though.

The numbers on the angle are meaningless because of the bend on the ball. The further the ball bends, the more the angle opens up. Roberto Carlos can bend a ball a long way.

The keeper came past it and had to reach backwards, so all the bullshit about the keeper's reach etc. is irrelevant. The keeper wasn't in the spot that doofus did all the numbers on.

Any one of us can physically hit that shot, and we'd all have a chance of scoring. Our chances would be far smaller as we wouldn't be as accurate, but the basic physics are very simple at gut level.
