ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

GAMBA OSAKA (JPN) 5 v MELBOURNE VICTORY (AUS) 1 (HT 3-1) Ouch!! Victory looks lethargic and disorganised.

Heading out to the SFS tonight to cover SYDNEY vs SUWON BLUEWINGS (KOR) for BOTN.

I was laughing my tits off. 3-0 after 10 mins.

They might be the "most succesful" Australian A-League team (don't count on that lasting long) but they will never cut it in Asia with Merrick at the helm.

0-0 was the result between Sydney FC & Suwon Samsung Bluewings at the SFS last night.

Was a good match to be at, Sydney played some lovely football with stand out performances from D.Williams, Bruno & Hiro.

That was the score but my view on the game (and my nearby media reps in the media area) were ... quite ordinary game with both teams looking out of sorts. Not a patch on the last few A-League games, and well below the level of Gamba Osaka.

Thanks for the photos though.

ps. the 32nd minute Red Card was for McFlynn stepping on the defender rather than stepping over him - quite odd why Terry did that - and was a fair enough ruling by Singapore referee Abdul Malik.

A match report is up at: http://back-of-the-net.com/2010-2011/Misc/ACL11-SFvsSB.htm (Photos to follow)

Not really on topic, but maybe just enough on to stay here...
If Bin Hamman gets the top job in FIFA, I wonder how long it'll be before Australia is booted back to Oceania, and we lose our spots in AFC?

I don't think thats gonna happen. There are too many commercial opportunities for businesses both local and abroad in Australasia through the AFC for them to cut ties. This was probably a reason in why we gained entry in the first place, it just hasn't been fully realised yet, especially at a domestic club level. (Don't hold your breath either)

Maybe someone else can fill in the gaps because I haven't any knowledge of other club's spruiking their region or sponsor as we did in our previous ACL campaign. Soon enough companies which operate both here and abroad in Asia will realise the potential that football brings for exposure. The most obvious being from the tourisim industry.
