A legend retires

Paolo Maldini, aged 40, has played his final game for A.C Milan, in a 2-0 win over Fiorentina. He has played in 902 official(not counting friendlies) games for Milan, made 126 appearances for the Azzuri, scoring 7 goals and was the captain from 1994 until the Azzuri exited from the 2002 World Cup at the hands of South Korea's golden goal(he wore the captains armband 74 times  ). He also made 12 appearances for the Under-21 Italian side, scoring 5 goals.

      Has there ever been a man so dedicated to one club, either in football, or in world sport in general? At age 40, he was considered to be Milans best defender this season, truly a phenomenal athlete.

I've never seen a better defender (apologies the Baresi). To see such loyalty to one club in this horrible mercenary era of Football is just wonderful.

One handed typing ... but we need someone who can organise the defense .. a beach side home ....  a boat ... maybe we could ... maybe back to one handed typing.

No way he's retired - he'll play on until he physically can't any more.... even then, they'll have to drag him from the field kicking and screaming.
