ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Yep,

Central Coast Mariners have today been pooled alongside Chinese Super League outfit Guizhou Renhe, K-League side Suwon Bluewings and the yet to be determined Japanese Emperor’s Cup winner for the Group Stages of the 2013 AFC Champions League.

Anyone for an away trip?

Will be heading to Japan for the third time on an ACL trip. Highly recommended and not too expensive. Plus it's a shitload of fun on game day!

The matches come at the worst possible time for me, work-wise. Were we to get deeper into the tournament, and we had some things going in September or October... </wishful thinking>

Think the draw in finalised after the final qualifiers. Was not finished then as the AFC does not want any more than 2 teams from the home country playing on the same day

Postecoglou is deluded in yesterday's press saying the Mariners did not deserve their spot in the ACL. Says that the champions should be the A League Representatives. He needs to take this up with the FFA, he knew as well as everyone else that the first side through to the ACL would be the "minor premiers" then grand final winners, then runners up if GF winner and minor premier were one and the same. Now he thinks a Roar boycott would be appropriate.

Fully agree. Theoretically Sydney or Newcastle could have won the spot if they happened to go on a good run in the finals - it's just not representative of the best team in the league that year.

Haha, when I saw what ange said first thing that went through my head was "I hear what you're saying Ange, and it sounds a little like this - whar whar whar whar whar"

They have been beaten heavily twice, but at full strength they are at least a top three prospect.

their defence is shit though. Struggle when pressed.

Ange knew the rules. AFC states it has to be the league winners, and then cup winners. Finals counts as our cup

i don't rate flores . finkler wouldn't get a run in our side .nabbo, yeah we got his story.
they are rojas and adelaide picked that. every other team will know this and hammer him.
if rojas gets injuried .watch the sack wacks crash and burn.

. i read an article from ange and his big issue seemed to be that the AFC is referring to us as champions (i don't know if they said that or if it was simply interpreted that way). i think his main issue was with the FFA and their terminology not matching the FFA and FIFA

. he also carried on about how we do it differently here and how we get such big crowds for finals ... when I think he should only be saying that we usually get one big crowd for the grand final (unless of course it is taken away from the hosting team's home ground)

. the arguments that 'we do it differently' and 'all the other codes do it that way' are either irrelevant or misleading:
- why don't we change to 2 points for a win then?
- why don't we play 'golden point' rules?
- why don't we start awarding points for corners and goalkicks to separate teams?
- award more points depending on how 'attacking' you play or by how much you dominate the opposition?

. simply put, the premiers deserve the spot more than the 'champions' and my read on the article was that he would not necessarily disagree with that. i don't know about the maths but in theory the 'champions' could sneak into the finals without winning a match ... win 3 games in a shootout, whilst at the same time the premiers could win every game but lose the grand final in a shootout. would he honestly argue the 'champions' deserve that spot then?
